Stanley Cup Finals Are All Set

The Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers both looked impressive in their respective Conference Finals and will face-off, literally, Saturday at 7 p.m. on NBC in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Chicago made quick work of the San Jose Sharks as they swept the Sharks to gain their first Finals appearance since 1992 when they were swept by Super Mario and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Philadelphia, however, is making their first Cup appearance since 1997 when they too were swept, but it was by the Detroit Red Wings.

The drought for each team actually winning the Cup is considerably longer. Philadelphia last won the Stanley Cup in 1975, defeating the Buffalo Sabres in 6 games. Chicago is on an even longer Stanley Cup drought. The last Cup they won was in 1961 when they bested the Detroit Red Wings in 6 games.
