Sam's Army - Preliminary Edition

The question on every US soccer fan's mind this morning was whether or not Charlie Davies' name was going to be included on Bob Bradley's 30-man roster for World Cup preparations. It is unfortunate that, despite his best efforts at recovery, FC Sochaux was accurate in their assessment of Davies' present condition. Let's be honest, we all knew it was a long-shot for Davies to be ready in time. Despite this loss, the show must go on.

Midfielders- Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, Stuart Holden, Ricardo Clark, Maurice Edu, Benny Feilhaber, Jose Francisco Torres, Alejandro Bedoya, DaMarcus Beasley, Sacha Kljestan, Robbie Rogers

Forwards- Jozy Altidore, Robbie Findley, Brian Ching, Edson Buddle, Eddie Johnson, Herculez Gomez

At first glance, most US Soccer fans should be able to get a fairly good idea of what the starting 11 will look like. The real questions will concern a few position battles that will be ironed out this month in New Jersey. In the coming weeks I will make predictions as to who make the 23-man roster, and what type of lineup and formations we should expect to see this summer.
