The Washington Redskins' $100 million man, DT Albert Haynesworth, is a no-show for the 2nd straight voluntary minicamp. And his teammates are pissed.
The Redskins are coming off of a 4-12 campaign in 2009, which is their worst season since 1994. Phillip Daniels knows it. Daniels called these workouts mandatory because of their poor performance last season.
These minicamps are even more important when considering new Defensive Coordinator Jim Haslett is making the switch from a 4-3 to 3-4. Ironically, that is the root of Haynesworth's frustrations. Haynesworth would rather play in the 4-3 where he has the freedom to rush the passer and record glamour stats like sacks. In the newly implemented 3-4 he will be required to plug the middle of the line, occupying blockers, taking up space, and stuffing the opposition's running game.
