I sincerely hope you've seen, or at least heard about this story. But if not, I'm happy to pass on the news.
The short of it is, pitcher Armando Galarraga had a perfect with 2 outs in the 9th when Jason Donald of the Indians hit a ground ball to 1B Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera fielded it cleanly, tossed the ball perfectly to Galarraga, who was covering the bag, and Galarraga stepped on first a good step before Donald. Except not in the eyes of umpire Jim Joyce who called Donald safe ruining Galarraga's perfect game AND no hitter.
The one saving grace from this story is how both men acted after the game. Joyce was audibly and visibly upset when he saw the replay in the locker room, and he went straight to Galarraga and apologized. Recognizing Joyce's sincerity, Galarraga forgave him and they hugged each other. What a display of class shown by both men.
